Principal

Stu

Stu joined the firm in 1982 and is now its president and managing principal. His strengths, split almost equally between planning, design and project administration, are applicable across a wide range of project types. His practice requires a regional understanding of context, culture, and natural systems in the creation of landscapes, which are sustainable and compelling. His three decades of work suggest that great places, which are noteworthy and memorable, are designed and sustained, through a genuine understanding of and respect for the community’s values, history and context.

A registered landscape architect and licensed planner, Stu has an MBA from LaSalle University and bachelor degrees in landscape architecture and environmental science from the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.

A veteran of numerous speaking engagements, Stu is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects; the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation; PlanSmart NJ; New Jersey APPA; and the Society for College and University Planning.

Stu is an adjunct professor at Temple University’s School of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, where he directs the senior design studio, and is the recipient of numerous professional design awards.

He’s currently working on a variety of projects for Longwood Gardens; Rutgers University; Albert Einstein Healthcare Network; and Fairmount Park.
