Principal
Joe joined Wells Appel in 1990 after winding up a five-year stint with Manhattan design firms. In 2002 he was made a principal of the firm. His design and management abilities have been tested on projects involving streetscapes; public parks; transit; healthcare; corporate centers; and educational facilities.
A graduate of the landscape architecture program at the State University of New York in Syracuse, Joe has been guest design juror and recently participated in a team teaching approach by Wells Appel for the Temple University landscape architecture senior design studio.
He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects as well as the Barrington New Jersey economic development committee and is a registered landscape architect in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
Joe’s active projects include the Town Center streetscape master plan and League Island Park at the Philadelphia Navy Yard; a new hospital and medical campus for Capital Health System; a gateway for University Technology Park; and office park expansions for Merrill Lynch.
