Canyon Club Resort Marina Cape May, NJ
This small site at the foot of the bridge into Cape May offered a great opportunity to combine residential and recreational uses with upgraded boat slips and a full-service marina.
By creating a zigzagged land use plan, 190 boat slips, 180 deluxe condominiums, a small retail center, swimming pool, tennis courts, gardens and parking were comfortably accommodated. Five distinct courtyards, each with its own amenities and direct links or views to the marina, gave the project a neighborhood feel and allowed it to be built in phases.
In mid-2007, Wells Appel, which had done all the original site design and landscape architecture work in Phases 1 and 2, was asked back to design the project’s third and final phase, which includes three new buildings, pool, patio, walkway, rain garden, and landscaping.
